If he sent the money… then who received it?
The next day I went to the bank and asked for a statement.
The clerk checked it and said in a low voice:
“Grandma, the money arrives every month… but then they withdraw it from the ATM.”
My legs gave out. I don't even know how to use an ATM.
I asked to see the security camera footage.
When they aired the video… I felt like my heart sank.
The person who withdrew the money…
was my daughter-in-law.
So calm… she pulls out bundles of bills… as if they were her own.
